Make cheap curtains look expensive
Curtains fail when they are too short, too narrow, too shiny, or hung too close to the window. Fix the install before blaming the product.

The install rule
Hang the rod high and wide. Panels should kiss the floor or break slightly. The wall should feel taller and softer after the curtains go up.
What to buy
- Linen-look or cotton-texture panels.
- Pinch-pleat or back-tab curtains when possible.
- Longer lengths, often 96 inches or more depending on ceiling height.
- A simple black, brass, or walnut rod.
Avoid shiny grommet panels unless the room has a very specific reason for them.
